MISSION STATEMENT
Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics provides an atmosphere of peace, prayer and hospitality for faith nourishment and spiritual renewal through opportunities for prayer and pilgrimage and inspiration from the lives of the saints.

VISION STATEMENT
Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics is a destination for visitors and pilgrims seeking spiritual renewal in a restful, quiet and peaceful place.  Private, communal and Eucharistic prayer offer opportunities for healing and comfort. The Shrine has national recognition for its focus on the lives of the saints. It is known for its Heritage Museum which chronicles the Sisters’ contributions to the spiritual development of the area.

Donations, grants, income from the gift shop and investments provide funding of operations.  Staff and volunteers work to preserve and maintain the natural beauty of the grounds, the art/architecture, and a prayerful atmosphere. The management and financial support of the Shrine are the responsibility of a dedicated board, transitioned over time from the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Dayton, Ohio.

CORE VALUES

  • Catholic Identity – The Shrine, rooted in the tradition and richness of the Catholic Church, invites persons of all faiths to experience the peace that God gives.
  • Hospitality – Each visitor is greeted in a welcoming and caring manner that makes their visit a positive experience.
  • Prayer – People visit the Shrine because it is a holy place which is conducive to experiencing a close relationship with God.
  • Spiritual Growth – The Shrine provides spiritual nourishment for persons who desire to grow in their faith.
  • Continuous Improvement –  The Board, staff and volunteers continually improve their knowledge and skills so as to provide quality programs, environment and services.
